Bearing Witness:
Sharing Grief in Queer Community

A New Grief and Loss Series in San Francisco,
facilitated by Sasha T. Goldberg, Assistant Director of Nehirim: GLBT Jewish Culture and Spirituality

Bearing Witness: Sharing Grief in Queer Community will provide an intimate and reflective space for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer and Questioning persons in their 20s and 30s who are struggling with grief and loss in their lives. We recognize that grief and loss is not exclusive to the death of a loved one, and that grief can be a response to many other large shifts in life. Accordingly, we invite those struggling with the many kinds of grief and loss into our circle to support one another in our sharing and healing through community. We will provide a pluralistic focus; Jews and non-Jews alike are welcome and invited.

Sessions will be held at Congregation Sha'ar Zahav, 290 Dolores Street (corner of 16th Street),
San Francisco, CA 94103

Sessions will run from 7:00 - 9:00 pm on the following dates:

October 21st
November 4th
November 18th
December 2nd
December 16th
*Sixth closure session to be determined within the group.

Limited to 8-10 people; cost is free. Advance registration required; please send your name, a bit about yourself and your grief/loss process to the group facilitator, Sasha T. Goldberg at stg[at]nehirim.org.
